Now under new ownership; we guarantee, as experienced hoteliers, we will continue to strive to improve the 
facilities on offer at the Fairmount Hotel. We approve of the publishment of the following report and will continue to publish every year. Our aim is to achieve ratings of, at least very good / excellent on every item inspected. To this end we have so far scheduled / undertaken the following works:
- The installation of new hot water & thermostatic controlled central heating systems.
- New orthopedic beds throughout.
- Replacement of all bed linen, duvets, pillows etc.
- Refurbishment of guest sitting room and bar areas.
- Installation of self service coffee & tea machine in the dinning room to offer quality, freshly brewed drinks at breakfast and throughout the day as required.
- New Televisions to be installed in every room offering integrated DVD / CD players.

Main Points of the Report
The caring proprietors continue to upgrade the property, with much repeat business being testament to their very good standards throughout. The business is a credit to tourism in the area, and they are to be congratulated on their progress. The position within the Four diamond rating has been strengthened at this visit.
The following comments include suggestions for improvements which, although not compulsory, would help to consolidate existing quality levels. These observations are based on the following rooms viewed at the time of the visit.

- Hotel continues to be very well maintained -very clear signage, well lit at night.
- Award winning garden area with attractive winter planting, Patio area has had very good new all weather surface, good outdoor seating provided. Good central location, close to all local facilities.
- Off road parking , small lounge/conference facility , bar for guests.

- Dining room as last seen, with well appointed tables and in good decorative order thoughts to re-decorate for more coordinated effect.
- Hall and landings in good order throughout, with mirror on top landing having been refurbished.
- Lounge and bar have been redecorated to very good standard with new mirror and new light fittings for bar; quality art work throughout. Furniture and flooring well maintained.
- Very good housekeeping standards observed.

Comments
- Rooms as previously noted, vary in size with single rooms being more limited. Central heating throughout and good levels of lighting with some shades to be replaced for greater coordination.
- Rooms are all in very good decorative order, as discussed thought could be given to improving finish to top floor rooms with use of coving.
- Beds all present very well with very good, matching bedding, new valances and scatter cushions. Some new headboards provided with 14 to have a new fitting.
- Furniture is all well maintained, with glass tops to protect surfaces, and varied styles but all offering very good levels of storage. Good quality drapes coordinating with decor.
- Flooring good throughout.
- Very good level of accessories, with very well stocked beverage trays ;some new t.v provided.
- Very good housekeeping throughout.

- Good levels of space, ample lighting .
- Some refurbishment for bathrooms, with 2,3,17,18,20 having been re-fitted, with very good new tiling throughout , with 9,10,21 to attended to shortly. 5,6 are also to be redecorated. As discussed, some stronger paintwork could be considered for older style rooms.
- Very good range of facilities, with baths and showers provided in some rooms, with new suites in 5 rooms; spacious new showers planned ail very well maintained.
- Very good range of linen facecloths and slippers provided, with very good range of accessories. Bathrobe available for room with private facilities, use of this could be mentioned in room information
- Very good housekeeping levels throughout.
